4-11-14 Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument

I am being literal today. The weekly challenge is Monument so that is what I shall show. Last year on a cool day in late June I was in Boston escorting my cousins on Freedom Trail.

There are many monumental sites on the trail but the last two of note are what interest us here.

The first is the penultimate stop: Old Ironsides, The USS Constitution:

and then the final stop: The Bunker Hill Monument. Two things of note about this monument. It was the tallest in the United States until The Washington Monument was built in 1885 and most of The Battle of Bunker Hill was actually fought on Breeds Hill.
