San Francisco’s UFO-looking Bubbleboat crashes the World Series

For The Win

San Franciscan artist Eric Staller made a “bubbleboat” that he fashioned to look like a UFO. He’s made a lot of these, and periodically takes them for little jaunts around the Bay, the primary objective being ‘shock and awe.’

Staller succeeded, because for a brief moment during Game 5 of the World Series, we thought that we may have been close to making contact with the third kind when we got a glimpse of the craft in McCovey Cove.

It really looks like a spaceship. From the egg shape buoyed by those blue canisters to the computer-programmed light show to the bubble cockpit. You’d half expect whatever stepped out of it and onto dry land to immediately ask to be ‘taken to your leader.’
