Lights Over Loch Ness

With the Lyrids officially kicking off the 2015 meteor shower season in mid-April how about one of the most amazing meteor shots I’ve ever seen to warm you up?!  This image by John Alasdair Macdonald of Hebridean Explorer, a vacation guide company in Scotland, is of a beautiful fireball meteor (Bolide) above the legendary Loch Ness; its colors perfectly reflected off the water.

It’s a classic example of how sometimes it’s the unexpected shots that can turn out to be the most amazing as he was just out doing some night sky shooting and captured this gem of a fireball.

Congrats to John on an amazing capture!
